POSITION SUMMARY

The Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Intern will support the World Concern Operations team by assisting in the development, implementation, and management of tools and systems used to assess and improve the impact of our programs. The intern will be responsible for developing data set templates, assisting with data collection and analysis, and supporting the creation and improvement of M&E tools that enhance the organization’s global operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

DUTIES

  1. Support in Data Collection
  • Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of data from various program activities
  • Help in developing and maintaining M&E data systems, including databases and spreadsheets
  • Ensure that data collection processes are consistent and meet high standards of accuracy and reliability
  1. Develop M&E Tools
    • Collaborate with the global, regional, and country teams to design and develop M&E tools, such as surveys, questionnaires, and interview guides
    • Support in developing and updating data set templates for tracking and reporting program performance
    • Assist in creating user-friendly data entry forms and templates
  1. Support M&E Reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of M&E reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Help in documenting lessons learned and best practices from program evaluations and assessments
  • Assist in reviewing and synthesizing data for quarterly and annual reporting
  1. Monitor Program Progress
  • Help track progress on program activities and output indicators
  • Support the analysis of program outcomes, identifying areas for improvement or adjustments
  • Assist with regular assessments of program efficiency and effectiveness
  1. Administrative and Operational Support
    • Provide additional administrative support to the department as needed
    • Support the country teams in preparing materials for training staff and partners on M&E processes and tools

The intern/fellow will learn and gain knowledge on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). Specifically, the person will:

  • Acquire practical knowledge and skills related to approaches and programming
  • Gain experience in providing technical support to country teams on different continents
  • Develop interpersonal and communication skills
  • Learn biblical perspectives and principles on M&E and how to apply them in international development
  • Build a professional network through interaction with different international development organizations/experts

EDUCATION

About to graduate or recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree program in international development, social sciences, statistics, public health, or a related field. Those with a master’s degree will have a distinct advantage and will be taken in as Fellowship.

 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Strong academic background in data analysis, research methods, or M&E principles is a plus
  • Experience living cross-culturally and traveling internationally
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to organize and analyze data effectively
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse, multicultural team
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive attitude

SOFTWARE / EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Email and internet-based communications (Skype, WhatsApp)
  • Web-based file sharing (SharePoint, OneDrive)
