As the Events & Programs Manager, you will play a key role in planning and delivering both in-person and virtual events that bring our business community together and drive meaningful impact.  You will work closely with multiple teams from Membership Development to Public Affairs and Marketing and Communications to create events and programs that meet revenue goals, share valuable insights, and support Chamber’s broader mission.
 
We are looking for someone who is a team player with a strong background in event management, someone who takes initiative, works well independently and collaboratively, and can create events and programming that aligns with the Chamber’s goals and values.
In this role, you will serve as a key liaison across internal teams and external partners. You will bring a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and flexibility to problem-solve in fast-paced environment. You will also support events led by other Chamber Events & Programs staff, which includes attending programs outside standard business hours and traveling to venues across the Seattle metro area and occasionally to regional locations.
This position reports to the Director of Events & Programs.

  • Complete tasks and assignments on time, proactively communicating status and obstacles.
  • The ability to work outside of regular business hours to attend and manage events, which may take place in the mornings or evenings at various local and regional locations.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds and move tables, chairs, and staging for event setup and takedown.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation for the transport of event related supplies.
  • The ability to travel domestically and internationally, including weekends, and be away for up to two weeks.
What You Will Do:
 
As the Events & Programs Manager, you will play a key role in creating and delivering impactful events that connect and strengthen the Seattle business community. You will lead a portfolio of core programs while supporting other important Chamber events.
In this role, you will:
  • Take primary responsibility for managing monthly and annual Chamber programs such as the Business Issues Forum, World Cup Ready, Industry Insights, Young Professionals Network (YPN), and Public Officials Reception by overseeing budgets, logistics, speaker and venue communication, sponsorship support, and goal setting
  • Support key events including the Community Development Round Table, Seattle Day, and PNW Study Mission by collaborating closely with team members who lead these initiatives
  • Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to develop compelling event content, marketing strategies, and outreach efforts that increase participation
  • Lead the design and implementation of new event strategies and programs that align with the Chamber’s mission and enhance its impact
  • Work with the Membership team to engage new and existing members, strengthening relationships through Chamber programming
  • Take charge of registration for select events and assist with registration duties across the team
  • Secure in-kind support such as goods, services, and venues to enhance event resources
  • Handle administrative tasks including correspondence, proofreading, and managing special projects
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, coordinating staff and volunteers to ensure smooth, professional event execution
What You Bring to the Role:
  • At least 3 years’ experience developing event content and managing logistics, with a proven track record of overseeing programs from planning through successful execution.
  • Confidence in collaborating across teams and with external stakeholders to create and lead event and programming that aligns with the Chamber’s mission and strategic goals.
  • A strategic mindset that goes beyond event and program logistics for long term event success.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and project management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling event narratives, panel questions, and marketing materials.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Experience managing budgets, deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • Flexibility and a solutions-oriented mindset in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with diverse teams, balanced with the ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to the Chamber’s core values and eagerness to integrate Chamber core values into your work.
  • Understanding of how to use data and metrics to improve event and program outcomes (Experience applying this is a plus.)
Employment Details
The Chamber is committed to internal and market equity. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $57,747-$78,000 annually, based on experience. The Chamber provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including but not restricted to:
