Reports to: Director of Philanthropy
Salary Range: $48,000 to $52,000 on a full time basis
Perks & Benefits: allowance for health benefits, generous PTO, and highly flexible work schedule
Time Commitment: This is scoped as a 50% position. Occasional evening meetings with our India colleagues may be required throughout the year.
Location: US required, Seattle-based strongly preferred. We are a hybrid organization with access to any WeWork office.
Summary:
As Upaya’s Development Associate, you will be the organizational glue that keeps our US team together and shows a friendly face to our donors. You’ll love this job if you are detail and data-oriented, love customer service, and are committed to ending global poverty.
Key Responsibilities:
Donor Operations

Processing gifts through Salesforce, thanking donors promptly, and maintaining weekly reconciliation with our accounting team.

Conducting Salesforce analysis to help prioritize fundraising activities.

Researching donors.

Drafting grant reports.

Running errands as needed.

Supporting our annual gala.
Organization Support

Support the CEO and Board of Directors in scheduling and preparing for board meetings, retreats, and donor calls.

Participating in an all-team meeting where you hear about the newest partner entrepreneurs and how they are generating jobs for the people in poverty.
Qualifications:

Some development experience is a plus, even on a volunteer basis.

Comfort with technology (Google Docs, Social Media, Productivity Tools, etc. Salesforce is a plus); demonstrated ability and interest in data analysis.

Proven ability to be self-directed, track details, and know when to ask questions.

Experience with international development is a plus.

Comfort with rolling up your sleeves to get things done, using technology to make life easier, and thinking outside the box.
