BACKGROUND: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future. IRC teams provide health, infrastructure, learning and economic support to people in 40 countries worldwide. The IRC also provides support to thousands of refugees resettling in 27 U.S. cities each year through initial housing assistance; case management and referral services; job readiness and placement; community and cultural orientation; health and wellness programs; immigration services; and youth programs.
SCOPE OF VOLUNTEER WORK: The Corporate Volunteer Engagement Role will focus on building partnerships between businesses and IRC to encourage employee involvement in volunteer activities. This role will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the Liaison for Corporate Partnerships
- Move the. needle on existing relationships with companies interested in social impact and corporate social responsibility (CSR)
- Utilize existing customized IRC volunteer opportunities that align with corporate values and employee skills.
- Connect to Volunteer Programs
- Connect group volunteer events such as mentoring sessions, skills-based workshops, or hands-on service days to existing IRC Volunteer programs.
- Employee Engagement & Advocacy
- Educate corporate teams about IRCs work in refugee support efforts and encourage long-term engagement.
- Provide presentations and informational sessions about the nonprofit’s work( IRC has existing templates and resources ready to go)
- Encourage peer-to-peer fundraising or in-kind donations( IRC has existing templates and resources ready to go)
- Volunteer Event Planning & Coordination
- Support corporate volunteer days (e.g., assembling welcome kits, career coaching, or cultural exchange programs)( In coordination with the Development team)
- Coordinate logistics, materials, and staffing for successful events( In Coordination with Development Team)
