Sola Soyombo, Vice President at the Spring Development Initiative, participated in the 2018 GlobalWA Fast Pitch.

The Fast Pitch at Global Washington’s Goalmakers Conference (November 15, 2019) is an opportunity for members to introduce themselves and their organizations to new people and to inspire greater support for their work across the GlobalWA network.

You must be a member in good standing and have registered for the conference in advance in order to take part in the Fast Pitch. If your organization is selected, your presentation should answer the following question:

Which Sustainable Development Goal is your organization advancing that would SURPRISE most people?

You will have 2 minutes and at most 10 slides to present your answer.

The 2030 Agenda put forward by the United Nations depends on the “interconnected and indivisible nature” of all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). While your organization may work mainly on one or two of the Goals – for example Good Health and Education – your work no doubt touches many targets that other SDGs also depend on.

Take a close look at the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and the various targets and indicators used to measure them, and tell us how your organization is helping accelerate progress towards goals that people may not normally associate with your work.

There is a great deal of crossover between and among the goals, so you are sure to find something surprising. Enlighten and entertain us.

If selected as a Fast Pitch presenter, you will be invited to take part in a training session in October, and you will be coached throughout the process to ensure your presentation is the best it can be.

Application for the Fast Pitch closed on Wednesday, September 25.
