The GlobalWA Communications Collective Spring Cohort
Event Description
How to Create a Strong Messaging Framework as the Foundation for All Your Communications
Come join our Spring Cohort of the Communications Collective on Thursday, May 2, to learn how to develop a strong, evidence-based messaging platform your whole organization can use for its communications. This session is open to GlobalWA members only, as a benefit of membership.
Creating a messaging framework helps you determine the building blocks for your communications outreach at all levels and for each communication outlet you use. It will also ensure your whole team is using consistent and prioritized language. You will hear examples from panelists from International Rescue Committee (IRC), Mona Foundation, and Global Washington, with support from an independent journalist who has worked with USAID, GlobalWA, and Melwood Global.
In this workshop, you will learn the difference between Messaging, Storytelling, and Strategy. We will guide you through an exercise to develop your Messaging Framework using a 6-pillar approach, which will culminate in you developing informed messaging you can take back to your team and use immediately:
- Your communication Goals
- Your target Audience(s)
- Tailoring for Channels
- Understanding and responding to Barriers
- Creating a clear and tangible “Ask”
- Understanding and communicating your Value Proposition
- Creating 3–5 informed messages
This will be a conversational and interactive session. Come prepared to share!
RSVP TODAY; registration closes Monday, April 29. This is a GlobalWA members-only event as a benefit of your membership.
