We are honored to host Gilbert Kamanga, National Director of World Vision Kenya, for a compelling discussion on the critical importance of international food security.
Gilbert Kamanga has extensive experience and a deep commitment to addressing food security issues in the East African region. Having previously served as the National Director of World Vision Tanzania during the latter half of the THRIVE Tanzania program, Gilbert brings unique insights and firsthand knowledge on the program’s impact on food security.

Gilbert is a seasoned development and humanitarian professional with over 27 years of experience – working within and outside World Vision. He previously worked as the National Director of World Vision Tanzania, as well as World Vision Uganda. Gilbert has also worked as the Director of Programme Quality for World Vision Southern Africa Regional Office (SARO); Head of International Programmes, Manager for Africa Team (International Programmes) and Senior Country Programme Manager for World Vision Australia. His previous work experience also includes serving as the Senior Programme Officer for the Youth Programme of the Commonwealth Secretariat in Lusaka, Zambia. His combined leadership roles at national, regional and international levels has prepared him to be a leader who challenges his teams to conceive and bring about lasting solutions and real change in the lives of the most vulnerable children. Gilbert is also passionate about data driven decisions and in growing leaders. He holds a Master’s Degree in Rural Social Development from Reading University (UK). He has also attended several courses in development management and strategic leadership.
