Food Security and COVID-19 in the Global South

Event Description

As COVID-19 expands in the Global South, fragile systems such as food security are in danger. The World Food Program estimates that 265 million people could be fall into acute hunger by the end of 2020. This would double the current number of people. Small-scale farmers in the Global South are the backbone to the food supply chain and are also the most vulnerable to health and economic crises. Several NGOs and foundations are at the front lines to prevent hunger and starvation in the Global South. Please join us on May 8 at 10:30am PT for a conversation about the impact of COVID-19 on food security.
