Executing a Virtual Gala in the Age of Coronavirus
Event Description
Upaya Social Ventures fights extreme poverty through the generation of dignified jobs. Founded in 2011, the organization supports early-stage businesses aimed at creating jobs for the poorest of the poor, and has created over 15,000 lasting, dignified jobs to date. This year, due to the coronavirus outbreak, Upaya was forced to cancel the Upaya Gala, their biggest fundraiser of the year, 5 days before the event. Instead this small-but-mighty team launched the Virtual Upaya Gala, successfully executing a 4-day campaign that would ultimately raise $280,000, surpassing their $200,000 goal.
During this webinar, Upaya’s Marketing & Communications Manager, Heather Targosz, and Director of Philanthropy, Suman Bhat-Kincaid, will discuss the strategy and logistics around their virtual gala and answer questions from participants.
