The Operations Manager works collaboratively with all staff to support the mission of Washington Nonprofits. This person will ensure efficient day-to-day operations and play a leadership role in building systems and infrastructure to ensure that our organization is healthy and functional as it grows. They will come with skills in many of the areas below, and a strong desire to learn and master all the skills needed to do the job effectively.
1. Financial Management
Serve as agency liaison to a full-charge bookkeeping services and ensuring accurate and timely monthly and year-end reporting.
Develop and manage the agency budget in partnership with the Executive Director.
Partner with the ED to ensure accurate and timely financial information is available to management and the board of directors; respond to internal and external financial inquires.
Manage contract management and grant reporting.
2. Human Resources Management
Serve as agency liaison to a Professional Employer Organization overseeing administration of payroll, PTO tracking and expense reimbursement.
Maintain employee personnel files.
Manage recruiting and hiring processes in alignment with the organization’s values.
Develop systems, policies and procedures for managing interns and volunteers.
Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, including identifying and selecting appropriate technology options, managing facility needs and researching options for major purchases.
Ensure that Washington Nonprofits remains in legal compliance (annual local, state and federal filings) and keeps appropriate records, working in partnership with professional accounting and employer contractors.
4. Special Projects
Support conference planning for our two large conferences, including promotion, securing exhibitors, and on-site logistics
Work with the team to develop and implement plans to improve operations, increase earned revenue or otherwise strengthen our organization.
Skills and Requirements
Relevant work experience, with preference given to those with nonprofit experience
Bookkeeping and/or financial management and analysis experience
Proven track record of successfully managing projects
Demonstrated ability to create and implement new systems, policies and infrastructure for a growing organization
Comfort using diverse technology applications. Familiarity with Quickbooks and/or Salesforce preferred.
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities effectively

FLSA Classification: Full Time, Exempt
Position Reports to: Executive Director
Salary Range: $47,000-$52,000, health insurance, paid time off
