Marketing Manager, South Asia

Remitly is hiring a Marketing Manager for its South Asia Regional Management Team. The focus of this role will be on the launch of Remitly’s services from North America, UK and Australia markets to South Asia . This will entail owning and driving the customer acquisition strategy.  As part of the Remitly Regional Management Team, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of South Asian culture, language, and customer. We are looking for a self-directed and creative growth marketer experienced in launching new products, features, and integrated marketing campaigns.

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • Customer Insights and Acquisition – Drive and own the strategy to meet acquisition and payback goals. Lead the development and testing of value proposition, segmentation, and positioning.
    • Develop advertising and marketing strategies
      • Know prospects – who they are, how they remit, who are their recipients and how to reach them
      • Develop promotional offers – appeal, competitiveness, operational impact
    • The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of South Asian culture and customer behavior, with focus on Indian culture and language and is an expert at market research  tools and techniques and leveraging data to create compelling messaging and offers.
  • Integrated Marketing Campaigns – Work with talents, creative and media agencies to ideate, build, and execute world-class campaigns and content for various marketing channels including TV, Cable, and Online Video. Directly responsible for media planning and buying. Works closely with the Remitly’s digital marketing and customer engagement team to launch omni-channel and seasonal campaigns.
  • Test & Learn Agenda – Develop the key learnings roadmap for South Asia and build out test plans in partnership with marketing analytics to scale new channel or customer segmentation ideas efficiently. Proactive with lots of ideas on how to contribute to growth and the ability to build business cases that will bring those ideas to market.
  • Partner Programs and Co-Marketing – Leads the marketing partnership and receive-side programs with banks and payout partners in South Asia in partnership with the global expansion team.
  • Strategic Planning and Cross Functional Programs – Develop annual business plan and manage P & L. Work across cross functional teams to ensure that the business is delivering best-of-breed solutions that exceed customer expectations.Work with the product teams to develop and recommend product features and product roadmap


  • 5+ years experience in performance marketing with a track record of successful customer acquisition at target ROI
  • Experience developing and applying qualitative and quantitative consumer research, segment-marketing, and persona-based marketing approaches in the customer journey.
  • Experience in developing go-to-market promotions and cross-channel integrated marketing campaigns in partnership with internal and external partners, vendors, media and creative agencies
  • Strong communication and project management skills with a can-do and collaborative working style. The ideal candidate is a focused self-started who sweats the details, capable of driving action and clarity in ambiguous situations, and handling multiple projects at the same time.
  • Experience in launching creative and media tests development with the objective of optimizing media spend and maximizing acquisition
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Liberal Arts, Communications or a related field, MBA preferred
  • Knowledge of at least 1 South Asian language -preferred Hindi
  • Ideal Background: Passionate Consumer Marketer who is energetic, nimble and highly results-driven. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Liberal Arts, Communications or a related field. MBA Preferred.
