Data Annotation Specialist

Vulcan’s machine learning (ML) technology requires world-class datasets with high-quality annotation to train ML models. We are looking for Data Annotation Specialists to work with our product team in support of Vulcan’s data collection, annotation, and quality assurance pipeline. As a Data Annotation Specialist on the Impact team, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of a team working to make the world a better place.

Annotation tasks will be completed using specialized software tools. After being trained to use these tools, annotation tasks will vary from bounding boxes, to polygons, to doing image or pixel segmentation to time series annotations. The Data Annotation Specialist will also serve as quality control, performing validation tasks on other annotated work.

This is a temporary role needed for a period of 4 months with potential to extend. We can offer either a part-time schedule (16 – 32 hours a week) or full-time schedule (40 hours a week).

  • Commitment to delivering consistent and accurate results
  • Ability to work on repetitive tasks efficiently and effectively with minimal errors
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend basic scientific and engineering instruction
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and usage
  • Ability to deliver to specific timelines
  • High data entry accuracy and attention to detail
