Location: IRC Office in SeaTac, WA

Time Commitment: At least one shift per week (M-F, 9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm). Regular schedule required. Minimum three month commitment.

Responsibilities: Help welcome newcomers to our community by helping our office run smoothly and efficiently. Administrative Assistants play a key role providing a welcoming environment for refugee clients and other visitors to our office. Volunteers direct incoming phone and email inquiries, and assist with a wide variety of office tasks, such as case file management, scheduling, data entry, and mailings. As an Administrative Assistant you’ll be exposed to how a non-profit organization operates and all of the different programs and services IRC provides.

Skills/Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and across language barriers; Must be comfortable answering and directing phone calls; Ability to handle sensitive client information confidentially; Must be flexible and patient; Confidence in basic computer skills (word processing, email); Some previous experience working in an office setting or customer service role can be helpful.
