Primary Purpose:
This full-time, Seattle-based position carries out administrative and advanced secretarial responsibilities and functions in support of Church World Service Regional community-based fundraising events, other congregational and community fund-raising efforts, and constituent communication activities in the multi-state Pacific Northwest Region and Great West Area. She/he coordinates and provides administrative and program support for the CWS Blankets+ and Kit Programs for the Region and other assigned Regions in the Great West Area. Familiarity with denominational structures and the philosophy and work of Church World Service is highly preferred, as this position will often serve as the first point of contact for congregations, donors, and constituents.

Knowledge in community and event fund-raising, volunteer management, effective communication, and efficient office management practices are essential. She/he must have the ability to work within a team environment with colleagues in multiple geographic areas and time zones. Some evening and weekend work will be required. Occasional travel may be necessary to support Regional fund-raising activities and to attend Great West Area and national staff meetings. Must maintain a valid automobile operator’s license.

Essential Fundraising Duties:

Program Support: (approximately 80% of time)
Serve as the primary Regional office greeter and receptionist, knowledgeably answering inquiries and connecting contacts to appropriate CWS team members.
Work closely with Great West Area colleagues to administer the CWS Blankets+ and Kit Programs.
Maintain Regional donor and event database.
Support Regional CROP Hunger Walk events including TeamRaiser technical assistance, development of web content, event insurance, material orders, recognitions, and local grant allocations.
Support other Regional fund-raising and hunger-awareness initiatives, including CWS program and advocacy efforts, CWS Best Gift events, youth and campus events, volunteer gatherings, and congregational visits.
Manage and evaluate Regional communications plan, following organizational protocols. This includes, but is not limited to, quarterly e-newsletter, monthly communication with Regional publication editors, social media efforts, and Regional displays.
Respond to constituent and/or staff requests for materials to be sent from central Materials Distribution Center or from the Regional office.

Team Support: (approximately 15% of time)
Participate in annual performance evaluation process.
Participate in regular Great West Area and Regional staff meetings and attend additional trainings/meetings as requested.
Provide support and coordination for Great West Area program, communication, and fundraising projects and initiatives.
Provide support and coordination of program and fundraising research.
Assist field staff as assigned.

Office Support: (approximately 5% of time)
Open and distribute postal and general electronic mail.
Maintain office filing systems, in accordance with CWS policies.
Conduct annual office inventory and office clean up day(s).
Maintain office equipment, inventory of office supplies and CWS resources, petty cash, and postage accounts.
Recruit and coordinate office volunteers.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
College credits, high school diploma, or equivalency. Must possess ability to think creatively and strategically, demonstrate initiative, beself directed, and function independently. Must be highly organized, be able to prioritize competing tasks, set and achieve goals, have a posture of helpfulness, superb phone and email etiquette, and operate effectively and efficiently in an environment with multiple time sensitive projects. Competency in MS Office and database management and experience working in an ecumenical, interfaith, or church setting as part of a staff team is desirable.
