Summit on Global Education in Washington State

Please join Global Washington on November 18, 2011 at a Summit on K-20 Global Education for the State of Washington, which will be hosted by Seattle University.

The Summit is designed to convene diverse groups interested in improving K-20 global education in the state of Washington. Registration is limited based on the sectors represented at the summit. Your sector will be used to categorize you into an appropriate breakout group.

The Summit on Global Education will bring together Washington State’s vibrant international education community, including: academic institutions, non-profit organizations, businesses, policy makers, and global education practitioners and supporters. Participants will learn about innovative global education projects throughout our State and provide critical feedback to Global Washington regarding the successes, deficits, and potential solutions of international education in the State of Washington.

The goal of the Initiative and the Summit is to develop recommendations for improving the state of international education as a whole. Participant feedback will be added to the final recommendations for the State in order to increase globally competent and engaged graduates in Washington State. Global Washington will publish and advocate for these recommendations beginning in 2012.

Pre-registration required – Registration closes on November 16th. Registration is limited based upon sectors represented at the Summit.

  • When: November 18, 2011
  • Where: Seattle University
  • Fees to offset the cost of program planning: $80
    $35 for teachers (K-12) and students (subject to verification – email admin@globalwa.org for a discount code)

Detailed registration instructions:

  1. Click “add to cart” in the appropriate category. Note that categories will be used to assign you to breakout sessions. We have a limited number of slots in each.
  2. If you are registering more than one person, enter the number of registrations you would like under “quantity” and click “update cart” to see your total.
  3. If you have a discount code, enter it in the slot at the bottom that says “using a promotional code?” and click “apply.” You should see the discount applied to your subtotal.
  4. Click “checkout”
  5. Enter your required checkout and payment information
  6. If you have registered on behalf of someone else, please include their name(s) and email address(es) in the
    “comments” field.
  7. You will receive an email confirmation at the email address provided. Please note that if you registered on behalf of a friend or colleague you will need to forward them the confirmation.
