Vice President of Equity

About this position: Vice President of Equity

This is a full-time position based in Seattle, Washington with some flexibility around exact work location.

The Vice President of Equity will collaborate with senior leadership and prepare strategic plans focused around overcoming cultural barriers, and implementing policies that advance PPGNHI’s equity work.

This strategic leader will also work with external communities and organizations to represent our equity, diversity and inclusion work, while seeking input and best practices. Additionally, they will create processes and systems to measure the impact of the work, and provides comprehensive reporting to affiliate and community as appropriate.

Major Responsibilities

Creates and strengthens cross-functional partnerships with other PPGNHI leaders to modify and improve the racial equity plan to increase collective knowledge and integrated outcomes

Chairs the Equity Committee and works to more clearly define and communicate the role and voice of the Equity committee

Cultivates and maintains effective partnerships with diverse external organizations thought leaders, partners and vendors in order to inform the agency’s strategy for racial equity work

Oversees the mentor program and works to grow the program as a key strategy for retaining and promoting people of color.

Collaborates with the CEO, the Strategy Team and Board of Directors to build internal engagement and accountability measures for equity, diversity and inclusion at all levels.

Partners with PPFA on equity, inclusion and diversity work and advocates for a comprehensive national plan and appropriate resources.

Education & Supervisory Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Master’s degree preferred.

At least seven years high level management experience, or at least three with a Master’s degree. Experience in an organization with a social justice focus preferred.

Required Professional Experience

At least ten years of relevant experience surrounding program management

Experience implementing equity and inclusion programs and change initiatives within a complex organization.

Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across a variety of stakeholders, influence others and manage laterally and up to ensure successful outcomes.

Skills and ability to successfully discuss and address issues related to race, class and privilege.

Experience in meeting facilitation where topics of race, culture, privilege or other issues related to diversity and inclusion are discussed.

The ability to produce multiple deliverables with overlapping deadlines and multiple stakeholders.


Ability to travel both in-state and nationally as needed.
