The Resource Development Intern will work with the Development Team to research and identify potential funding opportunities, help coordinate creation of materials to respond to funding opportunities, and assist with executing new strategies to engage donors, both traditional and new, including fundraising events. The intern will work most closely with the Development Team but also work with other program managers on specific responses to funding opportunities. The Intern will also assist the Development Team with administrative duties and tasks related to community outreach and special events.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Help research and identify new funding opportunities
- Update and manage donor and funding tracking tools (including Salesforce software) with current status and next steps and help devise new tools as necessary
- Work with Development Team and program managers to develop appropriate materials to respond to funding opportunities
- Strategize new ways to engage with donors in Seattle area working closely with Development Team
- Assist with strategy, coordination, execution, and follow-up for fundraising and community outreach events
- Represent the IRC at outreach events, such as tabling events and community engagement opportunities
- Help develop outreach materials, such as fact sheets and promotional flyers
- Other activities related to donor and community engagement, and fund development as assigned by supervisor
This internship is for undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent college graduates. Students pursuing degrees in the fields of communications, fundraising, marketing, public relations, nonprofit management, or other related fields may be particularly interested in this position

- Must be able to work productively in a team environment, as well as under minimal supervision, taking the initiative to ask questions as needed
- Confidence in basic computer skills; must be able to work effectively with MS Word, Excel, email, and internet applications
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
- Experience working in multicultural environments is a plus.
