Be a part of an exciting new chapter for the JBJ Foundation! The JBJ Foundation was created in April 2000 for the purpose of promoting and fostering the education of under-privileged youth in the United States. The foundation is taking on a new arm of philanthropy, focused on supporting high impact global health initiatives in Africa. Members of the board of directors have previously given to global health organizations through donor advised funds, but starting in 2017 are streamlining all gifts through the JBJ Foundation.
JBJ Foundation is requesting interested parties apply for the newly created Global Health Director position. The Global Health Director will provide strategic visioning, execution, innovation, and careful stewardship of all of JBJ Foundation global health investments. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator who can work effectively with philanthropists and a board of directors while also listen to community members in the regions served and create collaborative, cost-effective, and high impact program plans.
• Collaboratively create and plan a compelling vision for the JBJ Foundation’s global health investments with the Board of Directors.
• Establish and implement a comprehensive strategy to achieve the JBJ Foundation’s vision using evidence based research, best practices, and cost-effective interventions to support high impact programs. The Global Health Director will be instrumental in identifying potential local and international organizations and in working with the Board of Directors to choose recipients of financial support. The Global Health Director will be responsible for managing long term relationships with grantees, ensuring targets are met and providing support and guidance as necessary.
• Serve as the key representative for the JBJ Foundation when interacting with other philanthropists and foundation staff members while also comfortably working with local grantees and community members served by the foundation’s investments.
