Development Coordinator

About this position:

The Development Coordinator supports overall management and implementation of strategy, planning and execution of capital campaign for Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands (PPGNHI).

This is a full time position (37.5 hours per week) based in Seattle, WA.

What you’ll be doing: 

Collaborates with staff across departments, executive leadership, volunteers and board members to support strategy, fundraising and donor cultivation/stewardship goals for capital campaign.

Maintains ongoing campaign calendar, supports the Major Gifts Manager – Campaign in work plans and project timelines.

Works with the Major Gifts staff to support overall strategies with the development team.

Prepares and provides campaign status reports as needed.

Secures in-kind donations of goods and services, negotiates and secures vendor contracts, and submit check requests for timely payment.

Works with printers, designers and staff leadership to create marketing materials.

Regularly communicates with and serves as primary contact when needed, for donors on matters related to capital campaign.

Looks up and/or tracks donor interactions in Raiser’s Edge to help produce reports and other information as necessary.

You’ll need to have:

High school diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum of two years of nonprofit development, event coordination, or related fundraising support work

Experience in communications, marketing or community relations preferred.

Demonstrated success in external relationship, project management, and development events.

Experience with development software preferred such as Raiser’s Edge or Blackbaud etc. preferred.

Understanding of and a strong personal commitment to reproductive rights and the mission of Planned Parenthood.

Skills:

Advanced proficiency in MS Word, MS Outlook, general presentation skills, and light graphic design

Detailed oriented with excellent ability to handle multiple events and tasks supporting fundraising and events staff

Ability to see and understand the big picture and translate into action lists, correspondence, and briefing materials

Proactive problem solver who demonstrates initiative and ability to work individually and on a team.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Other:

Access to reliable transportation for local travel within WA.

Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
