TFT is seeking an experienced and motivated CSE BRAZIL COORDINATOR
Based in Brazil, (exact location to be determined) to lead the development and implementation of TFT’s Centre of Social Excellence (CSE) training and capacity building initiative in Brazil.

About the Centre of Social Excellence (CSE)
The CSE is a unique educational initiative of TFT focused on training early and mid-career professionals to be effective social practitioners in companies, governments and civil society organizations. The mission of the CSE is to create an enabling environment for social harmony and realized human rights by equipping companies, civil society and governments with well-trained social practitioners from the regions where they operate. The CSE provides practical courses on the concepts and methods needed to cultivate constructive relationships with diverse stakeholder groups in places where natural resource or agricultural development take place. The CSE was established in 2008, and it currently operates two programs, CSE Africa and CSE Indonesia. CSE programs will be established in each major region where TFT works. These new Centres will build upon TFT’s experience working with companies, communities and other stakeholders to collectively understand and develop solutions for the specific challenges and contexts related to the social aspects of their operations in each region. Our plan includes establishing a CSE Brazil in 2018, which will be the primary initial task for the new Brazil CSE Coordinator.

Responsibilities and Scope
Coordinate with TFT Brazil offices, the TFT Global CSE Lead, and others in TFT and beyond to establish and run the CSE Brazil program, including:
 Carry out a needs assessments that will inform the development of the CSE Brazil curriculum.
 Articulate a coherent and compelling narrative around TFT Brazil’s CSE initiative.
 Ensure CSE Brazil has a clear strategy that aligns with TFT’s wider CSE objectives.
 Fundraise for CSE Brazil activities to ensure financial viability of the initiative in Brazil.
 Ensuring CSE Brazil delivers on its work programme and objectives, and that participating stakeholders are kept fully informed on progress.
 Lead in identification and recruitment of expert trainers to teach at CSE Brazil.
 Identify potential CSE Brazil training sites/locations, likely including a permanent training facility/site.
 As needed, coordinate the establishment and equipping of a fully functional CSE Brazil training facility/site.
 Coordinate and oversee the hiring of support and service providers required for the daily operation of CSE Brazil.
 Coordinate and oversee logistics and operations of CSE Brazil courses at one or more sites for students and trainers.
 Coordinate the recruitment and selection of CSE students.
 Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of CSE Brazil courses and the impact of CSE graduates.
 Coordinate with global staff to develop and maintain the CSE Brazil web content and communications.
 Coordinate the development and operations of CSE Brazil alumni and trainer networks and events.
 Identify opportunities and requirements for collaboration, formal partnership and/or accreditation with local/national institutions.
 Coordinate with TFT staff to ensure CSE project commitments, TFT policies and procedures, financial standards, and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
 Other roles and responsibilities as required.
Requirements – Candidate Profile Minimum Qualifications
 Post-graduate degree or higher and 5 years’ relevant work experience
 An understanding of the social and environmental sustainability agenda, especially issues relating to social aspects of company operations, rights of communities and indigenous peoples, and methodologies for affective multi-stakeholder collaboration
 Senior Project Management experience
 Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to forge strong working relationships with individuals from a broad range of perspectives
 Strong organizational and negotiations skills.
 Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
 Strong writing skills
 Strong training, capacity building and facilitation skills
 Grant writing and reporting skills
 Fundraising skills

 Experience organizing and coordinating events, such as conferences, workshops, educational courses, and trainings.
 Experience selecting, contracting and overseeing service providers.
 Experience working on social aspects of natural resource management programs; and/or community development programs; and/or company operations
 Knowledge of Brazilian higher and/or continuing education institutions and programs (preferred).
 Portuguese fluency

 Spanish professional proficiency (preferred)

Working conditions / Physical effort:
Location: Brazil (specific location to be determined)
 Frequent trips inside Brazil to cities, towns, and rural locations.
 Position will require visits and overnight stays in different regions.
 Work in-person and via phone and email with diverse service providers.
