Conference Video Showcase


The Global Washington 2010 Showcase is a celebration of the dedication and hard work that has created an extraordinary global development community in our State. The goal of the conference Showcase is to recognize individuals or organizations that embody best practices in innovation and collaboration in global development, serving as inspiration and a model for the global development field worldwide.

Participants were asked to submit a video that illustrates critical issues in global development and what their organization is doing to tackle them.

A panel of judges will select the top showcases for our conference, based on the following principles:

1. Partnership cultivation:

  • Meaningful cross-sector and/or cross-issue engagement that effectively demonstrates how partnership played an integral role in the project’s or program’s success

2. Innovation:

Demonstrates innovation in at least one of the following ways:

  • Scientific innovation: cutting-edge products, services, technologies
  • Social innovation: new ways of fostering community buy-in and support, innovative outreach strategies, successful coalition building, new approaches to information-sharing
  • Integrating partnerships in ground-breaking ways
  • Entrepreneurial savvy in identifying and supporting innovative programs
  • Unique and effective processes for program/project implementation
  • Forward-thinking methods for addressing challenges, troubleshooting obstacles

3. Impact:

  • Project attempted rigorous impact evaluation methods
  • Project is replicable & scalable
  • Project is sustainable
  • Project has had far-reaching impact
