Organization Description

EarthCorps offers a 6-month service learning program in Seattle, Washington, USA that brings together emerging environmental leaders from around the world to learn the fundamentals of: Environmental Service, Community Building, Leadership.

Example Project

EarthCorps focuses on healthy habitats, strong communities and young leaders. Some international participants have used this experience to return home and implement similar programs:Palawan Conservation Corps (PCC), PhilippinesEarthCorps Filipino alumni returned home to complete projects including the construction of a native plant nursery and an educational hiking trail/nature park, using funds they raised while participating in EarthCorps.Great Baikal Trail Association (GBT), RussiaThree Russians participated in a custom EarthCorps training program and EarthCorps sent two staff to Russia to help organize summer work camps for more than 200 Russian and international volunteers.Eastern Guatemala Sustainable Development Association (ADISO), GuatemalaMore than 20 local and international EarthCorps alumni, along with staff, homestay families and board members, traveled to Ipala, Guatemala in early 2004 to participate in the Guatemala Work Camp.
