Organization Description

Since 1998, Amigos de Santa Cruz has been working in the central highlands of Guatemala in the remote villages of Santa Cruz la Laguna. The organization’s mission is to help support better education, health, a cleaner environment and economic development for the idigenous people of Santa Cruz. We believe that by focusing on one community we can help empower the people via access to education and help affect postive economic and social change.

Example Project

Amigos is currently partnering with the local community to build a permant vocational education center that will serve the people of Santa Cruz and surrounding villages for generations to come and will provide opportunities for young adults to gain new skills that will lead to real life jobs in the trades, tourism industry or to start their own businesses.
