Organization Description
Agbanga Karite provides fine quality unrefined shea butter, authentic African black soap and tropical oils to discerning buyers while upholding the principles of fair trade. Agbanga Karite advocates retaining local control of natural resources and preserving traditional values and production methods. They also grant their profits back to communities.
Example Project
Through the Global Alliance for Community Empowerment or GACE (www.empowermentalliance.org) Agbanga Karit provided more than 300 children with books, uniforms and supplies for the 2004-2005 school year and paid the school enrollment fees for these children. In a related project, Agbanga Karit donated desks and chairs to a local primary school in the village of Adjorogo in Togo.
